Noise Study: Centinela Hospital Emergency Generator Project

AGI Staff have completed their
evaluation on the planned Emergency Generator Project for the Centinela
Hospital. As City of Inglewood’s the only
hospital, Centinela Hospital consists of a level II emergency department,
orthopedic care, advanced cardiac service, peripheral artery disease treatment
and OB/GYN services. Currently, CHMC and
the entire campus are in the process of upgrading their electrical system. As part of the upgrade, the hospital wants to
construct 3 new emergency generators.
AGI recommended the use
of exhaust and intake silencers to reduce the noise as low as possible. Also,
the generator should be surrounded by solid panels and acoustical baffles to
lessen the unwanted sound. By following
these procedures and guidelines, it will comply with the noise standard of the
city. After all the construction and the
installation of the project, one must have a follow up verification survey to
ensure the noise of the generator meets to noise cirtieria.
